RESIDENTS OF SAUDI ARABIA ONLY: this admission route and fee are for non-Saudi students who are already resident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (e.g. on a family/dependent iqama) and are applying through KAU's 'Admission of Non-Saudis with a Financial Fee' bachelor's track. It is NOT available to applicants applying from outside Saudi Arabia, and it is a separate, different route from KAU's free/funded international scholarship track. The amount above (SAR 35,000) is what KAU's official 1446H admission guide states for the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, charged per academic SEMESTER, not per year. Attached here because this programme's own duration-of-study citation (see durationYears above) confirms Cybersecurity sits in that same faculty ("Faculty الحاسبات وتقنية المعلومات"), and the fee guide states explicitly that this rate 'applies equally to every major taught in this faculty' — the identical figure and source already used for kau-bsc-computer-science, kau-bsc-information-systems and kau-bsc-information-technology. Excludes VAT. Reconfirm current-cycle dates directly via KAU's admission portal before applying.

This is a college-wide (faculty-wide) rate: it applies equally to every major taught in this faculty (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Zoology, Microbiology, Botany, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Medical Physics), not a Chemistry-specific price. The stated figure excludes VAT. The guide's cover states Hijri year 1446, Second Semester, with no Gregorian academic year given; this exact PDF is nonetheless the document KAU's live 'Available Programs for Non-Saudi Admission (with Fees)' admissions page currently links as its official guide, so it is used here as KAU's current published reference for this fee — applicants should reconfirm current-cycle dates and any fee changes directly via KAU's admission portal (بوابة عزز, adm.kau.edu.sa) or the Ministry of Education's Study in Saudi portal (studyinsaudi.moe.gov.sa) before applying.

RESIDENTS OF SAUDI ARABIA ONLY: KAU's "Admission of Non-Saudis with a Financial Fee" bachelor's track is for non-Saudi students already resident in the Kingdom (e.g. on a family/dependent iqama), not for applicants applying from abroad, and it is separate from KAU's funded international scholarship track. For the Faculty of Economics and Administration the 1446H admission guide does not publish a single figure: it splits the faculty into "scientific specialisations" at SAR 20,000 and "theoretical specialisations" at SAR 10,000 per academic semester, and does not say which of the two band this particular major falls into. No structured fee is therefore recorded for this programme — the two bands differ by a factor of two and guessing between them would misinform the decision. Both figures exclude VAT. Confirm the applicable band and current-cycle dates directly with KAU's admission portal.

RESIDENTS OF SAUDI ARABIA ONLY: this fee belongs to KAU's 'Admission of Non-Saudis with a Financial Fee' bachelor's track, which is for non-Saudi students already resident in the Kingdom (for example on a family or dependent iqama). It is NOT open to applicants applying from outside Saudi Arabia, and it is a different route from KAU's free/funded international scholarship track. Charged PER ACADEMIC SEMESTER, not per year -- the table is headed "المقابل المالي لبرامج البكالوريوس لغير السعوديين (للفصل الدراسي الواحد)", the financial consideration for bachelor programmes for non-Saudis for a single semester. Excludes VAT. The same source and treatment as the KAU computing entries already in this file. Reconfirm current-cycle figures via KAU's admission portal before applying. Read off the الطب (Medicine) row at 40 thousand riyals. Note KAU prices its Rabigh campus separately on the very next row -- الطب برابغ at 35 thousand -- so this figure is the main Jeddah Faculty of Medicine, which is the faculty this record links to.

Accommodation

SAR 1,000one-off refundable security deposit

Refundable security deposit required to take up a place in KAU's three student-housing complexes, run by the Student Housing Administration under the Deanship of Student Affairs. It is the only figure KAU publishes for student housing: the page states no rent and no recurring charge, and the deposit is returned at check-out once the student has no outstanding financial obligations, so it is not a housing price. Eligibility is restricted: housing is designated primarily for students coming from outside Jeddah, is allocated only to students who meet KAU's approved housing eligibility requirements and regulations, and depends on availability. Men and women are housed in separate sections with separate application contacts, and the same deposit is stated for both. The page states no nationality restriction, and this deposit is not a scholarship arrangement — KAU's scholarship pages describe housing provided to sponsored international students separately.

Rooms are fully furnished, and the complexes include mosques, sports and games halls, outdoor playgrounds, TV lounges, kitchens and laundry rooms. Internet, cleaning and maintenance are provided, along with air-conditioned buses running between the housing complexes and the faculties, and health, social, psychological and educational support. Fines, penalties or outstanding charges are deducted from the deposit, and a student owes anything beyond its value. Residents aged 18 or over must inform their parent/guardian and obtain consent regarding entry to and exit from the housing.

Published by the university itself, not a live listings price. Actual cost depends on room type, availability and when you apply.

After you graduate

Rules read 19 Aug 2026

What Saudi Arabia's own immigration authority currently publishes. Not a ranking, not a guarantee, and not the same as what any agent or forum will tell you. Whether someone actually obtains residence depends on occupation, points, funds and policy that can change between application and graduation.

Route to citizenship

Saudi Arabian citizenship is governed by the Saudi Arabian Citizenship System (نظام الجنسية العربية السعودية, first issued 1954, amended repeatedly since), published in full by the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers, Saudi Arabia's official legislative-text authority. Article 9, in its current form as amended by Royal Decree No. M/54 of 29/10/1425H, sets out the naturalisation route open to a foreign national: reaching the age of majority and having held residency status for not less than 10 consecutive years at the time of applying; being of sound mind and body; being of good conduct with no judicial prison sentence exceeding 6 months for a morally-related crime; belonging to a profession the country needs (a requirement waived only for someone born in the Kingdom to a foreign mother and an unknown father); proving a lawful livelihood; and being fluent in spoken, read and written Arabic. The naturalisation application itself must be accompanied by the applicant's residency permit and passport (or an equivalent document accepted by the competent authorities) and 'every document related to the nationality from which he is detaching himself' — i.e. evidence tied to renouncing the original nationality, the same documentary requirement Article 16 states explicitly and separately for a foreign wife of a Saudi national ('submitted a request to that effect and renounced her original nationality'). Article 10 gives the Minister of Interior the right to decline to forward a naturalisation proposal to the Council of Ministers Chairman even where an applicant meets Article 9's conditions, without stating reasons; citizenship itself is granted by the Council of Ministers Chairman on the Minister of Interior's proposal.

New entry added 19 August 2026. One Saudi government domain added to IMMIGRATION_DOMAINS in scripts/verify.mjs: boe.gov.sa (Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers, Saudi Arabia's official legislative-text repository — the equivalent role played by mevzuat.gov.tr for Turkey and planalto.gov.br for Brazil elsewhere in this dataset), covering its laws.boe.gov.sa subdomain where the actual Citizenship System text is published bilingually (Arabic primary, with an official English rendering also available via the page's own language toggle, not separately captured this pass). Collection note: this SearchDetails page renders the full, current, amended text of every article server-side (confirmed 35,000+ characters of real statutory text, including superseded prior wordings retained for reference) despite living inside what looks like a search-results URL — the plain http fetch worked without needing the browser-rendering fallback this project uses for JS-only government portals. workDuringStudy, postStudyWork and residencyRoute are all left null: this dataset searched studyinsaudi.moe.gov.sa (Ministry of Education's official study-in-Saudi-Arabia platform), moe.gov.sa, hrsd.gov.sa (Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, which regulates work permits) and pr.gov.sa (the Premium Residency Center, Saudi Arabia's 'Golden Visa'-style residency scheme) but found no official page stating a work-during-study entitlement, a distinct post-study work/job-search permit, or a permanent-residence route specifically reachable from student status. studyinsaudi.moe.gov.sa's FAQ and Educational Visa pages describe only visa application and admission requirements, not work rights. pr.gov.sa is a heavy client-rendered application whose criteria pages (e.g. /premium-residency-law) redirect to a marketing landing page under both the default and browser-rendered fetch, and in any case the Premium Residency scheme is aimed at investors, top executives and property owners rather than graduates specifically, so this dataset chose not to represent it as this country's 'residencyRoute' without being able to verify its actual eligibility text against a graduate's situation. This is recorded as an absence of found information, not a confirmed 'no' — a foreign worker's ordinary route in Saudi Arabia runs through employer-sponsored Iqama (residency permit) status under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development's labour system, which was not researched in further depth this pass. inDemandOccupations is left null for the same reason, though note that Article 9(d) of the Citizenship System itself ties naturalisation eligibility to belonging to 'professions the country needs' — a real published linkage between occupation and the citizenship route specifically, captured under citizenshipRoute rather than as a separate shortage-occupation list. naturalisationStatus set to 'published-route': Article 9 publishes real, numbered residence-length (10 years), language, conduct and profession-need criteria, and documents an implicit original-nationality-renunciation requirement via the 'nationality from which he is detaching himself' documentation clause — per the doc comment on ResidencyPathway.naturalisationStatus this field records only whether criteria are published, not how demanding Saudi Arabia's particular combination of requirements (especially the 'needed profession' and Minister of Interior's unstated-reasons refusal power under Article 10) is in practice. citizenshipTerms records route discretionary on the strength of Article 10, which lets the Minister of Interior decline to forward a naturalisation proposal to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers without stating reasons, even where the Article 9 conditions are all met; the grant itself is made by the Chairman on the Minister’s proposal. dualCitizenshipAllowed is false because Article 9 requires the applicant to submit every document relating to "the nationality from which he is detaching himself", and Article 16 states the renunciation requirement expressly for a foreign wife of a Saudi national.
