2026/27 · Faculty-wide rate · All students — no separate international rate

The Faculty of Information Technology meters this fee per semester, not per year, and charges it to every student of an English-taught bachelor programme regardless of nationality — study in Czech at CTU is free for Czech and foreign applicants alike, so this is a fee on the language of instruction rather than an international rate. The same page dates the cycle: "Conditions for Admission to the Informatics Bachelor's Degree Study Programme for the Academic Year 2026/2027". A separate admission fee of CZK 950 is payable with the application, and paying the tuition by card adds a CZK 700 service fee. Informatics is FIT's only bachelor programme; its six specializations are chosen during the degree, not at application.

One faculty-wide rate covers every Faculty of Electrical Engineering bachelor programme taught in English, and it is charged on the language of instruction rather than on nationality — study in Czech at CTU is free for Czech and foreign applicants alike. The page states no academic year anywhere, so the figure is recorded as undated; it also warns that "The faculties of CTU function as independent bodies within the university and therefore reserve the right to change the fees slightly each semester." Metered per semester, not per year; the same page adds "Above mentioned fee is per one semester. There are two semesters per a year." The rate is charged for study in a programme delivered in a foreign language rather than on nationality — study in Czech at CTU is free for Czech and foreign applicants alike. The fee page states no academic year, so the figure is recorded as undated. In the archived text the fee table flattens to a header row (Bachelor / Master / Ph.D.) followed by its values; the faculty separately restates the same figure in prose on its bachelor admissions page — "The tuition fees in bachelor study program is 55.000 CZK per semester" — which is what confirms 55,000 is the bachelor column.

Metered per semester (two semesters per year), charged for study in a programme delivered in English rather than on nationality -- study in Czech is free for Czech and foreign applicants alike, per the same faculty policy already documented for CTU's other Faculty of Transportation Sciences-adjacent programmes on StudyPath. CTU is the only university in the Czech Republic offering integrated ATPL(A) training. Flight training itself is a separate cost, paid directly to a partner flight school (DSA or F-AIR) chosen by the student -- CTU's own page states this is approximately CZK 1,650,000 including VAT for a frozen ATPL, not included in the tuition figure here.

How CTU Prague compares

Against the other universities in the Czech Republic on StudyPath, using each one's verified international fees and its own published housing prices. Universities are only compared with others charging in the same currency (and, for housing, for the same period), so no figure here has been converted. A ~ marks a year worked out from a per-term or whole-course fee.

CTU Prague's lowest undergraduate fee for international students is CZK 110,000 a year, for Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. Of the 3 other universities in the Czech Republic we list with undergraduate fees in CZK, 1 charges more at their lowest, 2 charge less. Their lowest undergraduate fees run from CZK 100,000 (Masaryk) to CZK 390,000 (Charles University).

Living costs. The living-cost figure for a student visa to the Czech Republic is CZK 115,810 for one academic year, on top of tuition (figure for 1 January 2023; read 27 Sept 2026 from frs.gov.cz). The authority attaches conditions that can change this amount; see them in full on student finance.

Subjects taught at CTU Prague

Each one opens every course in that subject, at every university we hold, with the same verified fees.

Accommodation

CZK 118–CZK 280per bed per day

SÚZ ČVUT halls of residence — the CTU service that runs the university’s dormitories — at the Ceník kolejného (hall-rent price list) rate in force from 1 September 2026. The price is per bed per day including VAT, with a minimum stay of 30 consecutive calendar days, and this list applies only to students of Czech higher-education institutions who evidence their studies. The range covers the five halls the price list sets out unambiguously: Bubeneč, Sinkuleho, Hlávkova, Orlík and Dejvická.

  • Sinkuleho, category D (shared bathroom on the floor) — four-bed roomCZK 118
  • Sinkuleho, category D — three-bed roomCZK 130
  • Sinkuleho, category D — two-bed roomCZK 156
  • Sinkuleho, category D — single roomCZK 170
  • Hlávkova, category B (shower + WC shared within the cell) — two-bed roomCZK 170

  • Bubeneč, category B — single roomCZK 248
  • Bubeneč, category A — two-bed roomCZK 254
  • Bubeneč, category A — single roomCZK 280

Prices are per bed per day including VAT and are NOT annualised anywhere on StudyPath — do not multiply them without knowing how many nights a student actually books; the price list only guarantees a 30-day minimum stay. The category legend on the same page reads: A = own room with shower and WC in the room; B = cell with shower and WC shared within the cell; C = room with a washbasin in the room; D = room with shared facilities on the floor; E = room with shared facilities on the floor or on upper floors (basement rooms). The same price list also covers CTU’s three largest halls — Strahov, Podolí and Masarykova, whose figures on the page run between 92 and 222 Kč — but the PDF’s table layout interleaves their hall names, blocks and room types so badly that no figure can be attributed to a room type with confidence, so they are deliberately left out of the range above rather than guessed at. A student occupying a two-bed room alone may ask SÚZ to convert it to a single at a 70% surcharge on the current price, and prices may be adjusted if VAT changes by law.

Published by the university itself, not a live listings price. Actual cost depends on room type, availability and when you apply.

Work during study

Section 98 of the Employment Act (Act No. 435/2004 Coll., o zaměstnanosti) lists the categories of foreign national who do not need any work permit, employee card, internally-transferred-employee card, or blue card in order to work in the Czech Republic. Item (j) of that list is a foreign national 'who is continuously preparing for a future occupation in the territory of the Czech Republic (§ 5)' — the cross-referenced § 5 is the Act's own definitions section covering pupils and students. This places a foreign student enrolled in a course of study in the Czech Republic in the same work-permit-free category as, for example, a permanent resident or a person granted asylum (also listed in the same Section 98), rather than under a numeric weekly-hours cap of the kind several other countries on StudyPath publish.

Route to citizenship

The Czech Republic's Ministry of Interior, via its official Information Portal for Foreigners, states plainly that Czech law allows dual (or multiple) citizenship, and that beyond acquisition by birth, citizenship can be acquired 'by granting' (udělením) — available to a citizen of a foreign state or a stateless person who holds a permanent residence permit in the territory of the Czech Republic. The same portal states that one of the conditions for a grant is demonstrating knowledge of the Czech language at level B1, and demonstrating basic knowledge of the Czech Republic's constitutional system and of its cultural, social, geographical and historical realities (tested via the Czech-language and Czech-realities exam referenced on the portal). A permanent residence permit is therefore the prerequisite residence status a foreign graduate would need before this route becomes available at all; the portal directs applicants to the Ministry of Interior's own site and to the Act on Citizenship of the Czech Republic (Act No. 186/2013 Coll.) for the full documentary requirements, fees and other conditions.

“The law allows for the existence of dual (or multiple) citizenship. The basic ways of acquiring Czech citizenship are birth and grant. At birth, a child acquires the citizenship of the Czech Republic if at least one parent is a citizen of the Czech Republic. By granting them, citizens of a foreign state or stateless persons with a permanent residence permit in the territory of the Czech Republic have the opportunity to acquire the citizenship of the Czech Republic.”

New entry added 19 August 2026. Two Czech government domains accepted as a government source here: cizinci.cz (the official Information Portal for Foreigners, run jointly by Czech government ministries including the Ministry of Interior, whose Department of Asylum and Migration Policy/OAMP is the actual immigration authority, and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs/MPSV, whose branding the portal's own theme files carry) and mpsv.gov.cz (Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs' own document repository, hosting the full consolidated Employment Act text). postStudyWork and residencyRoute are left null: StudyPath found no Ministry of Interior or cizinci.cz page describing a distinct post-study job-search bridge visa of the kind several other countries on StudyPath publish, nor could it pin down the specific numbered article (Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residence of Foreign Nationals, §§ 66-69 per a non-government summary found while searching) describing the ordinary path from long-term to permanent residence on an extractable, citable government page — the Ministry of Interior's own consolidated-law application (aplikace.mv.gov.cz/sbirka-zakonu) surfaces only individual amending Acts rather than an easily-isolated current consolidated text, and the newer official e-sbirka.cz consolidated-law portal is fully JavaScript-rendered with no server-side text this project's fetcher (or its browser-render fallback, which returned 0 extracted characters) could capture. This is recorded as an absence of found information, not a confirmed 'no' — a future collector could pursue the OAMP's own long-term/permanent-residence pages on mvcr.cz directly, or the individual amending Act located at aplikace.mv.gov.cz/sbirka-zakonu/ViewFile.aspx?type=c&id=5978 (a 2011 consolidated republication of Act No. 326/1999 Coll.) which was found but not yet verified for extractable text. inDemandOccupations is left null: no shortage-occupation list was found on cizinci.cz or mpsv.cz specific to this route. naturalisationStatus set to 'published-route': the Information Portal for Foreigners publishes real citizenship-acquisition criteria (permanent residence as prerequisite, B1 Czech language, civics knowledge) and explicitly confirms dual citizenship is allowed — per the doc comment on ResidencyPathway.naturalisationStatus this field records only whether criteria are published, not how demanding the underlying permanent-residence prerequisite is to reach. citizenshipTerms records minimumResidenceYears null because the Information Portal for Foreigners states only that a permanent residence permit is the prerequisite for a grant, together with the B1 language and Czech-realities conditions, and states no residence-year figure; it refers applicants to Act No. 186/2013 Coll. for the full conditions, which StudyPath did not separately cite. The number is therefore not recorded rather than taken from elsewhere. dualCitizenshipAllowed is true on the portal’s own plain statement that Czech law allows dual or multiple citizenship.
