Against the other universities in Poland on StudyPath, using each one's verified international fees and its own published housing prices. Universities are only compared with others charging in the same currency (and, for housing, for the same period), so no figure here has been converted. A ~ marks a year worked out from a per-term or whole-course fee.
MUL's lowest undergraduate fee for international students is €15,100 a year, for 6-year MD (Medicine). Of the 10 other universities in Poland we list with undergraduate fees in EUR, 2 charge more at their lowest, 8 charge less. Their lowest undergraduate fees run from ~€2,500 (AGH) to €20,100 (Kozminski).
Student housing. MUL's own lowest published rate is PLN 640 per month. Of the 16 other universities in Poland we list that publish housing per month in PLN, 12 charge more, 4 charge less. Their lowest published rates run from PLN 420 (Warsaw Tech) to PLN 2,530 (PJAIT).
Living costs. The living-cost figure for a student visa to Poland is PLN 1,010 per month, on top of tuition (figure for applications filed after 27 April 2019; read 30 Aug 2026 from migrant.poznan.uw.gov.pl). The authority attaches conditions that can change this amount; see them in full on student finance.
Each one opens every course in that subject, at every university we hold, with the same verified fees.

Hall of Residence no. 4 (IV Dom Studenta), monthly fee for MUL students — the university's own price list for permanent accommodation, set by Appendix to Regulation no 20/2025 of the Rector. The same page prices Halls of Residence no. 1 and no. 2 separately (650-1400 PLN a month for MUL students) and lists a higher non-student column with 8% VAT on top; only Hall 4's student column is recorded here.
A guarantee deposit of 700 PLN applies, plus a 100 PLN charge for a delayed rental payment and a 500 PLN disciplinary penalty for breaching dormitory regulations. Separate, much lower short-term accommodation rates are published for stays that are not permanent, and Halls 1, 2 and 4 charge 15 PLN a day to leave belongings in the room from June to September.
Published by the university itself, not a live listings price. Actual cost depends on room type, availability and when you apply.

For a student staying in Poland alone. This is on top of — not inclusive of — return-travel costs to the country of origin (PLN 200/500/2,500 depending on origin, waived with a return ticket already held) and housing costs for each month of stay, both of which must be shown separately. A student arriving with dependent family members needs PLN 823/month for themselves and each family member instead, plus the same travel and housing add-ons for each person. Many third-party guides still quote an older PLN 776 figure — this official Wielkopolska voivodeship (Poznań) immigration office page states 1,010 zł as the current amount, so the lower figure appears to be stale.
“Jeśli przebywasz w Polsce sam, minimalna kwota wynosi 1010 zł na każdy miesiąc pobytu + koszt podróży powrotnej do kraju pochodzenia i koszty zamieszkania na każdy miesiąc pobytu.”
Work during study
A full-time student on a Polish study visa or a temporary residence permit for study purposes may work in Poland without needing a separate work permit at all — the Office for Foreigners states this applies 'also while waiting for the permit for temporary residence for your studies,' provided the temporary-residence application was filed during the visa's validity and was correctly and completely submitted (or corrected in time if it had formal gaps). No maximum weekly-hours figure is stated for this exemption, unlike the numeric caps several other countries on StudyPath publish.
“If your stay is based on the Polish visa given for your studies (art. 60(1)(9) of the Law on Foreign Nationals) or on a permit for temporary residence (art. 144(1) of the Law on Foreign Nationals), you may work without a work permit, also while waiting for the permit for temporary residence for your studies (given in the form of a stamp), provided that you have applied for the permit during your stay under the visa and your application wa”
Post-study work visa
Temporary residence permit 'for other reasons' for a graduate of a Polish university (Article 186(1)(6), Law on Foreign Nationals) . Up to 9 months
Available to a 'graduate' — defined as a holder of a diploma from first-cycle studies, full-time second-cycle studies, postgraduate studies, or a doctoral school (bachelor's, engineer's, master's, master-engineer's or doctoral title, or equivalent) from a Polish institution — who wants to stay to look for work or start a business. It is granted only once, for 9 months, and the application must be filed in person with the Province Governor (voivode) directly after graduation, during the applicant's legal residence in Poland; the applicant must show medical insurance and (per the Ministry's own regulation on the point) sufficient funds. Once a job is found, graduates of full-time Polish university studies are separately exempted from the standard labour-market test that would otherwise apply to their employer, though the temporary residence permit requirement itself remains.
“I have graduated from a Polish university and I am seeking employment. What can be term / validity of my permit for temporary residence? A permit for temporary residence for this purpose is granted only once, for 9 months.”
Route to permanent residence
Poland's Ministry of the Interior and Administration (MSWiA) publishes a specific route into permanent-type status ahead of citizenship, but it is reached only after already holding a permanent residence permit, an EU long-term residence permit, or the right of permanent residence — statuses this entry's postStudyWork and workDuringStudy routes do not themselves grant. The graduate job-search permit described under postStudyWork is a one-off, 9-month temporary permit, not a route to permanent residence on its own; a graduate who finds qualifying work instead needs an ordinary work-and-residence permit, and would need to hold that (or an equivalent long-term status) for the years described under citizenshipRoute below before a Polish permanent-type residence status, EU long-term residence, or citizenship recognition becomes reachable. StudyPath found no separate, named 'permanent residency' scheme specific to graduates or skilled workers published by MSWiA or the Office for Foreigners beyond the general residence-permit and citizenship-recognition ladder described under citizenshipRoute.
“has resided legally in Poland for a continuous period of at least 3 years based on a permanent residence permit, an EU long-term residence permit or the right of permanent residence, has a stable and regular source of income in Poland, has the right to occupy a dwelling unit,”
Route to citizenship
Poland publishes two separate routes to citizenship. 'Recognition' as a Polish citizen (uznanie za obywatela) is the administrative, criteria-based route MSWiA's own page sets out in detail: for someone with no Polish family connection, the shortest published path requires at least 3 continuous years of legal residence held on a permanent residence permit, an EU long-term residence permit, or the right of permanent residence, together with a stable and regular income and the right to occupy a dwelling in Poland (a slower, otherwise similar path exists at 10 years for someone who does not meet the 3-year path's fuller conditions). Every recognition route requires Polish language proficiency at CEFR level B1, officially confirmed, and a voivodeship governor may refuse recognition where it would threaten national defence, public security or public order. A second, separate route — 'conferral' (nadanie) — is a discretionary grant by the President of the Republic of Poland on application, with no published numbered residence or language criteria of its own; StudyPath records only the recognition route's published criteria, since conferral is not bound by stated conditions. On dual nationality, Article 3 of the Act on Polish Citizenship states Poland's 'exclusivity principle' directly: a Polish citizen who simultaneously holds another country's citizenship has, before the Republic of Poland, exactly the same rights and obligations as someone holding only Polish citizenship, but may not invoke the other citizenship, or any right or obligation arising from it, with legal effect before Polish authorities. In practice this means Poland does not require a foreign national to renounce their original nationality to become a Polish citizen — it simply treats every Polish citizen as solely Polish for purposes of Polish law, regardless of any other nationality they also hold.
“Art. 3 ustawy o obywatelstwie polskim stanowi: 1. Obywatel polski posiadający równocześnie obywatelstwo innego państwa ma wobec Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej takie same prawa i obowiązki jak osoba posiadająca wyłącznie obywatelstwo polskie. 2. Obywatel polski nie może wobec władz Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej powoływać się ze skutkiem prawnym na posiadane równocześnie obywatelstwo innego państwa i na wynikające z niego prawa i obowiązki.”

Collection note: mos.cudzoziemcy.gov.pl (Moduł Obsługi Spraw, the Office for Foreigners' case-handling e-service portal), which several search results pointed to for more procedural detail on the graduate permit, could not be reached by either automated fetching (DNS resolution failure: 'Could not resolve host') or the project's real-browser fallback (navigation failed silently back to a blank tab) — the gov.pl/web/udsc-en pages used instead cover the same substantive facts and were independently reachable. residencyRoute is deliberately framed around what MSWiA's own citizenship-recognition page states about the residence permit that must already be held, since StudyPath found no separate named 'permanent residency' scheme for skilled workers or graduates distinct from that same ladder — Poland's structure runs residence permit → EU long-term residence/permanent residence → citizenship recognition, rather than a separate PR programme with its own study-to-residence bridge. inDemandOccupations is left null: no shortage-occupation list was found gating the graduate's transition into ordinary work-and-residence status beyond the general labour-market-test exemption already described under postStudyWork. naturalisationStatus set to 'published-route': MSWiA publishes detailed, numbered criteria for the recognition route — per the doc comment on ResidencyPathway.naturalisationStatus this field records only whether criteria are published, not whether the separate, uncriteria'd Presidential conferral route is easy to obtain. citizenshipTerms cites the MSWiA recognition page already archived for residencyRoute because it states the periods; the powroty.gov.pl page cited by citizenshipRoute covers dual nationality. 3 years is the shortest published recognition path and is counted from the grant of a permanent residence permit, EU long-term residence permit or right of permanent residence, not from arrival; the same page publishes a 10-year path for an applicant who does not meet the 3-year path’s fuller income and housing conditions. The separate conferral route by the President has no published criteria and is therefore not what this field describes.
